Zache Zube - Tejas Yoga Chicago

Zachary Zube has a varied background in movement arts and practices. In 2001, he began dance classes and continued his training at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he earned his BFA in Music Theatre. He began his journey with yoga in 2006 by practicing Bikram, and then curiously began exploring other vinyasa styles and kundalini yoga. In August 2008, he completed a 200-hour teacher training at Yoga Now under the guidance of Amy Beth Treciokas. Other influential teachers include Rich Logan, Abby Factor, Jim Bennet, and James Tennant. In January 2011, he met Yogarupa Rod Stryker upon attending a training on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Zach is continuing to practice and learn on the path of the tantric yoga tradition. A survivor of childhood cancer, Zach turned to yoga as an adult to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and for better health. Along the way, he is continuing to discover glimpses of just how deep this practice can go. He believes in the power of yoga as a way to heal the energetic body, strengthen the immune system, condition the physical body, and mostly to nurture a strong and radiant spirit (tejas). As an instructor, he believes in steadiness (sthiram) and peacefulness (sattva) as a foundation to guide others on their journeys. Zach also spends his time as a professional musical actor in the Chicago area. He finds inspiration and spiritual connection through the expression of movement, song, and storytelling. He has been on stage with such theaters as Drury Lane Oakbrook, Ravinia Festival, Marriott Lincolnshire, Theatre at the Center, Bailiwick Repertory, and Light Opera Works. He also danced one season each with Li Chiao-Ping Dance in Madison, WI and Hedwig Dances of Chicago. Proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
